The fifteenth edition of the Canarian Ball Tournament of Wood "Abuelos Conejeros" will start on November 19, starting the registration period in each of the Social Services areas of the island's town halls. A tournament that last year brought together a total of 118 teams and 708 players played. The Canarian Ball Tournament of Wood "Abuelos Conejeros" is aimed at people over 60 years and is an event organized by the Island Sports Service of the Cabildo of Lanzarote and the seven municipalities of Lanzarote.
Registration to participate in the XV Canarian Ball Tournament of Wood "Abuelos Conejeros" is now open. The tournament is reserved for players over 60 years in both male and female categories. Registrations must be made before October 17 in the Social Services departments of the island's town halls.
San Bartolomé will be the municipality that will host the fifteenth edition of the Canarian Ball Tournament of Wood "Abuelos Conejeros", with games being played every Wednesday from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The tournament will begin on November 19 and will last until April 8. It will be played every Wednesday except for the weeks of Christmas, Epiphany, Carnival and Easter. Each team will be composed of a minimum of 4 players and a maximum of 6.
The Canarian Ball Tournament of Wood "Abuelos Conejeros" is organized by the Island Sports Service of the Cabildo of Lanzarote and the seven municipalities of the island. Migdalia Machín, Minister of Sports of the Cabildo of Lanzarote" highlights the "importance and unique characteristics in that it not only promotes the practice of physical activity among the elderly of our island, but also promotes their social relations and helps to preserve a native sport and very loved by all as is the Canarian ball".
This is an event that has been gaining followers with the passage of editions, increasing each year the number of participants. In the last edition a total of 708 players participated (318 men and 390 women), distributed in 118 teams (53 male and 65 female). Until October 17, the elderly of our island will have the opportunity to participate in a new edition of the Canarian Ball Tournament of Wood "Abuelos Conejeros".
