The Cabildo of Lanzarote has opened the registration period for Wine Run Lanzarote 2026, one of the most recognized sporting and wine tourism events on the island's calendar, which will be held on June 13 and 14 in the protected landscape of La Geria, declared a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System (GIAHS).

The event will once again take place over a weekend, with Saturday dedicated to complementary activities and family-friendly options, and Sunday reserved for the various sporting competitions. Registrations can now be made through the event's official website and the platform set up for each category. Wine Run Lanzarote 2026 maintains its usual categories: long race, short race, walk, and Joëlette, ensuring the participation of people with reduced mobility and reinforcing the accessible and inclusive nature of the event.

The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, emphasizes that the Wine Run "has returned to its rightful place, being an effective event to showcase an island model that protects its landscape, cares for its primary sector, and uses sport as a way to discover the territory." In this regard, he recalls that the race takes place in a unique agricultural space "that is the result of the work of generations of winegrowers and which today constitutes one of Lanzarote's main heritage values."

For his part, the Minister of Landscape and Food Sovereignty, Samuel Martín, points out that the Wine Run "integrates sports activity, environmental awareness, and social action," and highlights that part of the resources generated by the event are allocated to landscape cleaning and conservation tasks, as well as to solidarity initiatives linked to inclusion and support for social groups. Likewise, the mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, insists that the Wine Run "has consolidated itself as one of the major events on the municipality's sports and social calendar," and points out that "Uga and La Geria are once again at the center of an event that generates activity, attracts visitors, and enhances the work related to the landscape and the wine sector." The Wine Run Lanzarote is organized by the Cabildo de Lanzarote, the Yaiza City Council, and the Regulatory Council of the Designation of Origin Wines of Lanzarote, and has the support of various public and private entities linked to sports, the wine sector, and land management.

All information regarding the modalities, routes, and registrations is available on the event's official website www.sipamlanzarote.com/winerun, where interested individuals can already secure their participation in the 2026 edition of the Wine Run Lanzarote.
