Moises Pérez de León has been appointed as the new island chess delegate in Lanzarote. He replaces José Miguel González, who was dismissed last Wednesday by the Governing Board of the Canary Federation. Pérez de León was until now secretary of the new UnoChess chess club, which is chaired by Carmelo Pérez Cejudo.
Moisés Pérez, 44 years old, is the son of a chess player and therefore has lived the science sport since he was a child. During the last two seasons he has been working as a monitor assistant at the La Democracia Society Chess School, also being very active in particular in terms of participation in all chess events that have been held on the island.
As soon as he received the appointment from the president of the Canary Federation, Moisés Pérez has summoned the clubs and "representatives of island chess" to a meeting to be held at 7:30 p.m. in the library of the Democratic Society, to, among other issues, discuss agreements for the celebration of the remaining island competitions with the FCA based on the current situation and ratification of a monitor to accompany the island expedition to the Canary competitions.
