Magec Tías Lanzarote Against Gender Violence achieved their first victory of the season, after convincingly defeating the Granada team of El Plantel GMASB by 80 to 61. The team, led by Jesús García, played an excellent match at the Tías Municipal Pavilion, dominating from start to finish and displaying solid work in both defense and attack.
The match also provided a special moment for the Rojinegra youth academy, with the debut of three young players: Silvia Muñoz, Paula Cardona, and Paula Lahora, who enjoyed their first minutes in the category and received warm recognition from the local fans.
From the opening tip, the Lanzarote team showed their best version. With an organized game, intense defense, and effective play in the paint, the local players quickly took the lead on the scoreboard, closing the first quarter with a favorable 22-15.
The defensive pressure from Magec Tías continued to pay off in the second period. An 11-0 run left the score at 33-15, reflecting the good moment for the islanders and the bewilderment of the visiting team, which also began to accumulate personal fouls. At halftime, the scoreboard showed a clear 49-27, with a 22-point difference and the feeling of a far superior team.
After the halftime break, the pace of the match evened out slightly, although Magec Tías Lanzarote Against Gender Violence never lost control. The solid home defense continued to dictate the rhythm of the game, allowing for quick transitions and good ball movement in attack.
With the game well in hand (68-42 at the end of the third quarter), the crowd was waiting for a special moment: the debut of the three junior players called up by Jesús García. Silvia Muñoz was the first to step onto the court, surrounded by her teammates and the applause of the pavilion. Although her attempted three-pointer didn't go in, the emotion of the moment was felt throughout the venue.
Shortly after, it was Paula Lahora's turn, who responded to the fans' affection with a three-pointer that lifted the supporters from their seats. Finally, Paula Cardona completed the night of debuts, showing great enthusiasm and unsuccessfully attempting to score from the perimeter, but equally receiving the public's recognition.
In the final minutes, the home team managed their lead intelligently, while the Granada team tried to reduce the difference with individual pressure. However, Magec Tías remained calm and closed the match with the definitive score of 80 to 61, thus adding their first victory of the season.
The red and black team left a good impression on their fans, showing commitment, tactical solidity, and a great team spirit. In addition, the participation of the young academy players reinforces the club's commitment to training and developing local talent.
With this victory, Magec Tías Lanzarote Against Gender Violence faces its next commitment with confidence, which will be against Segle XXI in Barcelona on Saturday, October 25 at 5:00 p.m. (Peninsular time).
