The visit of HGB Ausarta Barakaldo to the Tías Municipal Pavilion was a good touchstone for Magec Tías “Against Gender Violence” to return to its usual pavilion, after the works carried out on the roof and the court.

The local players started very well, with a 4-0 run that was soon in charge, based on triples, to blow up the Dominican Maira Horford, the cornerstone of the Biscayan entity's game, who from the first moment showed her ranks to raise her teammates, putting her team ahead. With 11 consecutive points, the peninsulars were placed with a difference of two digits, which was reduced in the final seconds of the quarter to 4, 13 to 17. Carolina Mateo, who had not trained normally throughout the week with some discomfort, was placed with two personal fouls, and Jesús García had to dose her.

The local team intensified the defense on its rival and little by little reduced the difference on the scoreboard. The Lanzarote team found solutions, even from beyond the triple line, with a 3+1 achieved by the Portuguese Leonor Serralheiro, who made the fans in the stands stand up with some feints or assists that once again demonstrate why she was the best point guard in the Portuguese league last season. With the minimum difference, 29 to 30, the players went to the locker room.

The return to the court little changed the way the islanders played. Jesús García encouraged his players from the sidelines so that, with intense defensive work, they would make the visitors' ball possessions end without shots, as happened on several occasions. Magec Tías “Against Gender Violence” managed to get ahead on the scoreboard and have a lead of up to 9 points, the maximum difference they had achieved so far.

It was noticeable in the atmosphere that the game was going to be decided in the last bars, the joy was settling in the crowded stands of the Tías venue. Carolina Mateo was placed with four personal fouls, which prevented her from playing as much as her coach would have liked, but the figure of Dami Adeyinka appeared, absent in the last games as she had not been able to return to Spain and who, based on triples, had managed to place herself as the top scorer of the match and the provisional MVP of the match.

With the score of 49 to 43, the last quarter started, which had emotion and tension in equal parts. The visiting players managed to turn the game around before the 5th minute, leaving half the time to see which side the balance was going to move to. The victory was alternating between one side and the other of the pavilion. The local fans cheered on their team and some Biscayan fans who had also come cheered on the visitors.

The minutes were passing and it seemed that the Lanzarote team was more whole. The loss of Yaiza García due to personal fouls was a handicap that the local entity knew how to recover from, while the visitors lost the American Abby Anderson for the same reason. Pieces were falling, but the game, increasingly looking like a local victory rather than a visiting triumph, would not be decided until the last minute. The successes from the free throw line of the Lanzarote team and the errors in attack of the visitors ended up tilting the victory for Magec Tías “Against Gender Violence” by 62 to 56.

With this victory, the Lanzarote team is sixth in the standings, with 8 games won and as many lost. Next week they will play at home again, against Gardenstore Baloncesto Sevilla Femenino, who fell this day as a foreigner on the court of Ingenia Solar Energy Costa de Almería by 53 to 45, being tenth in the Women's League 2 with six wins and eleven losses.
