The Lanzarote club Los Marlines returned from the Spanish Sea Kayak Championship, in Vigo, proclaiming themselves champions in the young promises category and runners-up in the absolute category.
Last weekend, the III Spanish Sea Kayak Cup was held in Vigo, both the Absolute categories (cadets, juniors, sub23, seniors and veterans), as well as the Young Promises categories (children A and B).
About 500 paddlers from more than 50 national clubs competed over the course of Saturday and Sunday in the waters of Bouzas and Bayona. They were very tough regattas due to the conditions of little waves and wind that do not favor the canoeists of Lanzarote, but even so the team left their skin in all the competitions.
On the first day, several Marlins managed to get on the podium: Eloy Woelke gold in SS1 Cadet Men, Daniel Robayna bronze in SS1 Cadet Men, Jonay Nazario gold in SS1 Veteran A Men, Pedro Lemes bronze in SS1 Veteran B Men, Carla Medina and Olatz Labarca silver in SS2 Children B Women, Ariadne Gimenez and Emma Arrocha silver in SS2 Children A Women and Pedro Martin with Andor Devora silver in SS2 Children A Men.
Already on Sunday the good results continued: Eloy Woelke and Daniel Robayna gold in SS2 Cadet Men, Airam Pacheco and Eneko Labarga silver in SS2 Junior Men, Ines Hernández and Anabel Rodríguez bronze in SS2 Sub23 Women, Elba García and Gabriel Cabrera silver in SS2 Sub23 Mixed, and Pedro Lemes with Iago Nogueira silver in SS2 Veteran B Men.

The 20 medals (4 golds, 12 silvers and 4 bronzes), together with the good work of the entire Lanzarote team, meant that the Marlins obtained 559 points to be Runners-up by Clubs of the III Spanish Cup in the Absolute categories and Champions by Clubs in the III Spanish Cup of Young Promises with 373 points.
The Club continues to meet the objectives set for this season and makes the team continue to be positioned in the first place of the National Leagues, both in the Absolute and in the Young Promises, with only one competition left, which will be the Spanish Sea Kayak Championship in September in Cádiz, where the National Season will close and it is expected to see reflected the work of the whole year of the Marlins.
