The Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen fell defeated this Saturday in the Pabellón Macarena Aguilar on their visit to Vino Doña Berenguela Bm. Bolaños (27-22) in a match corresponding to the twenty-third round of the División de Honor Oro femenina.
With only three matchdays left to play, the tiñoseras continue to occupy the thirteenth position in the standings with thirteen points. The positive side of the matchday is that the two nearby teams fighting for permanence have also lost. Mislata, with one point more than the tiñoseras, has fallen at home against Córdoba (25-29) and Lleida, with two points more than the tienses, have also fallen defeated at home during Pozuelo's visit (22-26). Zaragoza, Pereda and Anaitasuna have won their respective matches and it seems they put distance with the dangerous zone of the standings.
Puerto del Carmen did not start the match badly. The "tiñosero" team maintained a certain equality on the Pamplona scoreboard until the twenty-fifth minute of the first half. In the last minutes, the local team achieved a small advantage that would take them to halftime three goals up. In the second half, the lead would increase. Puerto del Carmen would pay for the physical effort of a squad considerably shorter than Bolaños in the match, affected by the absences from the last matches.
The tiñosera Beatriz Masseu became the top scorer of the match with seven goals. Among the locals, the former tiñosera Carolina Charlo stood out with six goals.
For the coach from Tiñosa, Jesús Casanova, “it's a match that, unfortunately, had been brewing all week, I could even say the last two weeks because we are having real problems training. On top of that we have many injured players, some who haven't been able to travel and well, today we played with eleven players and it's clear that the opponent, who is a very powerful opponent, who is aspiring to the promotion phase, with sixteen players it's clear that physically they surpassed us at all times. We didn't start badly, we showed our face in many phases of the first half, we were there, they were getting away, we were cutting back, always depending a little on our defense. But well, after the opponent made a mixed defense it is true that we didn't know how to attack that area, the match got stuck for us and they got away by I think seven goals. We were able to cut it back a bit, but, unfortunately, in the end the result was a defeat. There are fewer and fewer matches left and now the two that are coming for us now are already two life-or-death matches. We have to win to continue having certain aspirations of maintaining the category,” concluded the coach of Puerto del Carmen.
On the third-to-last matchday, the twenty-fourth, Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen will play away again. It will visit the Anaitasuna court next Saturday, April 25, at 8:30 p.m. (peninsular time) in the Anaitasuna Pavilion in Pamplona. The Navarrese team won this week at Carballal's home (23-26) and occupies the eighth position in the classification table with nineteen points, six more than the tiñoseras.
