Aureliano Negrín Sanginés, Nano, from Lanzarote, is not only one of our best sailing athletes but also dares to try other disciplines. Negrín won the bronze medal at the VIII XC Madre del Agua Tacoronte 2023. The MTB marathon event, organized by the Eslabón Cycling Club and the Tacoronte City Council, was held last Sunday, March 19 in Tenerife.
The Lanzarote runner's time was three hours and nine minutes. Nano has already been the champion of the Canary Islands in the XC and XCM modalities in the M40 category.

The sporting event includes two distances, one of approximately 26 km and another of approximately 57.59 km, with 2,095 m of positive elevation gain that runs through forest tracks, paths and is presented as a great attraction for both federated runners and cyclists who want to take a mountain bike route through a territory of high environmental value.
There were 333 runners who participated in the individual competitive race of a single stage of Mountain Bike, Cross Country Marathon (XCM) mode, which runs through the Protected Natural Park of Las Lagunetas, and specifically through the mountains of the municipalities of Tacoronte, El Sauzal, La Matanza de Acentejo, La Victoria de Acentejo and El Rosario.
