On Sunday, November 30, the XXXIII Pepe Pérez Karate Trophy was held at the Miguel Ángel Díaz Molina Pavilion in Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife. A championship organized by the Canary Islands Karate Federation that featured around 600 competitors from across the archipelago in this edition.
The Karate Poliarrecife club participated with two karatekas, **Caleb Padrón and Amelie Skiba**For his part, Caleb Padrón, in the Male Youth Kumite -48 kg category, although he did a great job, **could not reach the medal rounds** after falling in the preliminaries, with his fight ending 0-0 and the referee's decision going to his opponent.
Amelie Skiba had a magnificent competition, winning all her fights in the Kumite Junior Female Open category, which earned her the top spot on the podium and her gold medal. This result is even more valuable considering it was an Open category, featuring the best Junior competitors from the Canary Islands across all weight classes.
The upcoming events for our competitors, for the remainder of the year, will be the WKF Youth League in Venice, where Amelie Skiba will compete, and the Grand Final of the RFEK National League 2025, for which our Club has qualified four athletes. Amelie Skiba Junior Female Kumite -59, Caleb Padrón Juvenile Male Kumite -48, Haddu Hamed Veterans 2 Male Kumite +75, and Abdalla ElJaafari Veterans 1 Male Kumite -75.
