This Sunday the age group Championships of the under 12, under 14 and under 16 categories of the Canary Islands Chess Federation have ended.
The player from the Tinajo Chess Club, Julius Pleschke, has revalidated his title achieved a year ago as absolute Champion of the Canary Islands, in the under 14 category.
Julius has made a full by winning the seven games played, at a fast pace of 40 minutes plus 5 seconds of increment per move.
Along with him were Santiago Parra, current under 10 Champion, who has played in a higher category (under 12) reaching five points and obtaining the twelfth position out of 74 players, Laura Chara (s16), Jesús David Castillo (s16) and Rubén Bruno De la Cruz (s14).
All of them supported by the vice president of the Club Acaymo Martin and other directors of the entity.
Alexis Valiente, president of the Canary Islands Chess Federation, among other members of the Board, was present at the awards ceremony.
Both Julius and Santiago have their sights set on the Spanish Championships of both categories, under 14 and under 10, to be held in the town of Salobreña, Granada, in the month of July next.
For this they will continue to prepare with their monitor Tony González who proudly tells us that these two young people have contributed significantly to Lanzarote occupying the third position in sports results of the Canary chess season, being the Tinajo Chess Club the only one on the island with regional award-winning players, under 18 years.
