“Arrive and kiss the Saint”. This has been the second tournament as a professional for the young Sintes and he has taken the prize after a great match on a course where the south wind made its appearance in the second round.

The tournament has had two leaders, in the first holes Álvaro Hernández Cabezuela took the lead, but they were back to square one at the beginning of the second round.

The equality was broken on the 13th hole, par 5 of 510 meters where José Antonio Sintes left the ball in the center of the street 240 meters from the flag and with a prodigious wood 3 left the ball just half a meter from the hole, and ending with a great Eagle that put him with a two-stroke advantage.

But as the saying goes, “Until the tail, everything is bull” and Sintes in the 14th and 15th holes left behind the advantage that Álvaro Hernández took advantage of with a great birdie in the 16th hole.

This gave a great boost to the Alps Tour player, and the saying is repeated in the 17th hole where Sintes returned the favor with another birdie.

The tables returned to the scoreboard in the 18th hole and another play-off was expected as it happened last year. But a great chip and putt gave the final victory to Sintes who fulfilled his first dream as a professional player in the Canary Islands.

Statements by Sintes after finishing his round. “I started well today with a birdie, I went to -3 at 9, playing very well and solid. Things got complicated after the Eagle. It has been a very hard fought and suffered match. With this victory I am happy, returning to work after the injury” Sintes added in the awards ceremony, that he dedicates this victory to his father, his family and his teacher Carlos Suneson.

Álvaro Hernández Cabezuela, “I have been close throughout the day, I have taken the lead from the first hours of the morning, then José has started very well. A lot of equality during the second round, I have recovered two strokes and he has finished with two birdies. I left many strokes along the way. The south wind has changed my strategy from the tee. I'm not happy but I am satisfied”
