This edition of the '4 Stage MTB Race Lanzarote' is being characterized by the superlative dominance in both categories, with Ismael Ventura and Tessa Kortekaas seeming unreachable. On this occasion, Ismael Ventura achieved victory in a stage more even than the first against Jorge Lamiel, who this Sunday finished as third classified.

After a thrilling first stage, this Sunday the participants faced a route of 55 kilometers with a total elevation gain of 990 meters. Ismael Ventura and Tessa Kortekaas climbed to the top of the podium on Saturday and repeated that success on Sunday. The weather conditions, with a lot of south wind, put the participants in trouble.

Similar podiums to those of the first stage

The first 24 kilometers were for the Dutchman Juul van Loon, who led the stage until Ismael Ventura began to shorten the distance between them as they approached back to 'Club La Santa'. In the second partial, the Catalan was already leading the race with Jorge Lamiel right behind. In the last kilometers, Ventura took the exciting victory by a minute and a half margin. In third position, the Greek Periklis Ilias crossed the finish line.

In the female category, Tessa Kortekaas accelerated and imposed a pace practically impossible to match for her pursuers. The Dutchwoman dominated the stage arriving almost four minutes before her main opponent, the Romanian Manuela Muresan. Like yesterday, the Slovak Janka Stevkova arrived in third place.

This Monday the third stage will take place: a 21-kilometer time trial that will challenge the 400 participants of this 'Club La Santa 4 Stage MTB Race Lanzarote'. This event, with the support of the Government of the Canary Islands, Cabildo de Lanzarote, European Sports Destination by Turismo de Lanzarote and the City Councils of Tinajo and Teguise, will serve for the fastest bikers to climb positions before the demanding last stretch on Tuesday.
