At the beginning of 2021, a group of friends, after taking a course called Hola Golf at the facilities of the Costa Teguise Golf Course, decided to form a club to play first among themselves and thus be able to practice and later play against other clubs. They call this club The Lions Golf.

The Canary Islands Golf Federation has launched the Hola Golf campaign to promote the practice of this sport, among children and adults, through initiation courses with very low prices, from 30 euros for four group classes, which will last one hour.
More than 8,000 people play golf in the Canary Islands, an activity that takes place outdoors and at all ages. In previous editions, more than 1,500 people participated, many of whom continue to practice this sport.
The Hola Golf campaign, promoted by the Royal Spanish Federation, in coordination with the Canary Islands Golf Federation, offers the opportunity to get started in this sport in any of the Canary Islands courses that have joined this campaign.
Nine clubs are participating in this edition, three in Tenerife, three in Gran Canaria, two in Lanzarote and one in Fuerteventura, which are the following: Club de Golf Los Palos, Club de Golf La Rosaleda, Golf Las Américas, in Tenerife; Real Club de Golf Las Palmas, Las Palmeras Golf and Maspalomas Golf, in Gran Canaria; Lanzarote Golf and Club de Golf Costa Teguise, in Lanzarote and Golf Club Fuerteventura.
Those interested in participating only have to enter the website www.holagolf.es, click on the map of the Canary Islands and choose the nearest golf course, to register for the initiation courses that will be taught by professionals of this sport, both to children and adults. Golf is a sport that can be practiced at all ages and is ideal for doing it as a family.
The Canary Islands is an ideal place to enjoy this sport, as it can be practiced 365 days a year. The climate and its facilities make the Islands one of the ideal places for practicing this sport.
The Lions Golf
The Lions Golf Club of Costa Teguise is created by a group of people who feel the need to unite to form games and with it small golf tournaments for beginners.
Thanks to Hola Golf, this family of golfers continues to grow, currently being more than 25 people between men and women. Counting with four different nationalities.
In this association we welcome those who start and are motivated in the practice of this wonderful sport, being fundamental the humor and friendship especially in the “so-called hole 19”.
This year two tournaments have been created, one in winter and one in summer, called:
- I Winter Tournament The Lions Golf
- I Tournament The Linos Golf Summer
Tournaments that will be repeated year after year.
