Five hundred athletes are set to enjoy the Playa Blanca Music Run Night this Saturday, November 29th, the sporting festival that for the last five years has been livening up the end-of-year season in Lanzarote's premier tourist destination. In addition to the running races, covering distances of 10 and 5 kilometers and one mile, there will be a great atmosphere promoted by DJ sets, lights, the Christmas lighting ceremony, musical performances by bands in the Plaza del Carmen, and above all, the good vibes of participating men and women of all ages, their families, and companions.

"Yaiza and the people of Lanzarote are once again enjoying a spectacular sporting event that captivates and integrates, and which also provides a great boost to local businesses in Playa Blanca," said the mayor, Óscar Noda, at the event to present the race. Registration is scheduled to close this Wednesday the 26th, but there are only about thirty places left to reach the maximum of 500 athletes set by the organization

Everything is set to kick off the party starting at 5:00 PM in Plaza del Carmen. At that time, the DJ show will begin, lasting until 7:00 PM, followed by Zumba until 8:00 PM to further warm up the atmosphere, and the final touch before the race begins will be the batucada music that will parade down Limones street to the starting line on Avenida Papagayo.

The Yaiza Sports councilor, Ángel Lago, encourages residents from the different towns of Yaiza to enjoy the night: "sport becomes the meeting point to intensely experience a family and popular event that also sparks the interest of athletes with outstanding careers in the Canary Islands." The 10 km race will start at 8:30 PM, the 5 km race will kick off at 2:40 AM, and it will conclude with the start of the mile (1.6 km) five minutes later.

Bibs will be handed out on Friday the 28th at Sports Club Puerto Calero, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and on Saturday the 29th, the same day as the race, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, in Plaza del Carmen in Playa Blanca, the epicenter of the celebration which concludes at night after the trophy ceremony with performances by Grupo Clave 3 and Rikabanda.

The routes of the Music Run Night touch central streets such as Papagayo, Limones, and Avenida Marítima. Playa Blanca is ready for its Music Run Night, which completes the circuit of the Series that already had stops in Haría and Puerto del Carmen, in Lanzarote, and the island of La Palma. "With this new event, plus the recent precedent of the Yaiza RallySprint and the Yaiza Extremo Sur, the municipality of Yaiza confirms that it is the undisputed leader in island sports and sets the pace for organization in Lanzarote," concluded councilman Ángel Lago, who was at the presentation event with mayor Óscar Noda and Tourism councilman Daniel Medina.
