The bay of Arrecife hosted this weekend the celebration of the Canary Islands Snipe Cup – Naviera Armas 2025 Trophy, an event organized by the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife by delegation of the Royal Canary Islands Sailing Federation. The wind has been the main protagonist throughout the two days of regattas in the island's capital, with Gustavo del Castillo (RCNGC) and Cristian Sánchez (RCNA) leading the classification in the three regattas on Sunday, finally winning the title of champions of the Canary Islands Snipe Cup.

On Saturday, two regattas of the Canary Islands Snipe Cup could be held, with quite intense wind blowing in the bay of Arrecife, especially in the second regatta in which they exceeded 20 knots of intensity. Rafael Lasso and David Martín (CD Náutico Castillo del Águila) took the lead in the classification, although with only one point ahead of Gustavo del Castillo and Cristian Sánchez, and Miguel Ángel Lasso and Marcos Peraza.

On Sunday, the wind blew from the northeast and its intensity has been increasing as the day progressed, from 12 to 24 knots. The three scheduled tests could be held, with the Regatta Committee designing a triangle-type course with two laps and arrival at the stern. The sailors enjoyed a good day of competition.

Gustavo del Castillo (RCNGC) and Cristian Sánchez (RCNA) have been the most consistent on the last day, adding a second place in the first regatta, scoring the partial victory in the second and being third in the last test of the day. These results have allowed them to assault the leadership, and proclaim themselves as new champions of the Canary Islands Snipe Cup – Naviera Armas 2025 Trophy.

Pedro de León and Óscar Pettenden (RCNA) have starred in a great second day of regattas, taking the victory in the first and third round of the day, and crossing the finish line as second in the second. These results have served the couple of the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife to be second in the Canary Islands Snipe Cup. The podium has been completed by Rafael Lasso and David Martín (CD Náutico Castillo del Águila), being third and making a good weekend of regattas.

The Canary Islands Snipe Cup – Naviera Armas 2025 Trophy concluded with the awards ceremony, with the top three classified being awarded. An event that was attended by Juan Roa, treasurer of the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife, and Carlos de la Hoz, secretary of the Snipe class.
