Expected triumph of Yeray Lemes and Aitor Cambeiro in the 30 Rallysprint Tomás Viera

The Lanzarote Island Championship held this Saturday the 30th edition of the Tomás Viera Rallysprint, a race that is also valid for the Las Palmas Championship of the specialty. A competition that had a list of 32 teams and from which Yeray Lemes-Aitor Cambeiro with the Citroen C3 Rally2 stood out as clear winners, scoring all six timed sections in their favor and finally adding an advantage of just over half a minute, in this second consecutive victory in the "El Cuchillo" section. For Lemes and Cambeiro it was also an important test for the final stretch of the CCRA, which will continue this month with the Rallye Ciudad de La Laguna.

With another similar mount, the also Lanzarote natives Oscar Cabrera and his co-driver Andrés Hernández played their role well and were second at all times, both overall and in each pass through the popular and spectacular route of the municipality of Tinajo.

And so at least among the top five overall without moving from the initial order since TC1, with Alvaro Caballero-Noé González third with the BMW M3, a podium position that they maintained in the six sections without being disturbed by other teams. Likewise, the following classified were immovable throughout the rallysprint, with Oscar Curbelo-Tania Hernández with the Renault Megane Coupé in fifth place in the final classification and first in Category 2, followed by the Peugeot 208 Rally4 of José Yoday Betancort-Daniela Betancort. Only Rayco Rodríguez-Cristofher Rijo with the Citroen C3 R3T Max intervened in two passes between them, but finished in sixth position.

Kevin Hernández-Oscar Rejón took the trophy of Category 3 with their Opel Adam S, in addition to finishing in eleventh place overall.

The town of La Vegueta hosted one more year the event dedicated to the memory of the co-driver Tomás Viera, with the final trophy presentation and the traditional barbecue shared between athletes and neighbors, with the assistance of the mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín, who accompanied the organization of the CD. Evesport headed by the president José Víctor Rodríguez.

One more year, the Club Deportivo Evesport organized this rallysprint with the collaboration of the FALP and FCA. And especially with the contribution and promotion of the City Council of Tinajo and its Department of Sports. And as always, with the support of the Cabildo de Lanzarote to motorsport, the Island Sports Service, Art, Culture and Tourism Centers, the Villa de Teguise, plus the companies CICAR and Orvecame, among other collaborators.

After this event, Evesport will concentrate to the maximum on the organization of the next "Isla de los Volcanes" of the Spanish Championship.
