Last weekend, the Windsurfer International Weekend was held in the Mar Menor, in the Region of Murcia, a competition that brought together about a hundred athletes and was valid for the Spanish Windsurfer Championship. The Real Club Náutico de Arrecife was represented in this national competition by Eric Yoldjoglou, who was proclaimed champion of Spain in the middleweight category.

The windsurfer class is currently enjoying great popularity in Europe, and more and more riders are showing their skill on the waves. This is a class in which all athletes have the same equipment when facing the races, and which is subdivided into the lightweight, middleweight and heavyweight categories.

The Spanish Windsurfer Championship was held with excellent wind conditions, blowing from the first day with an intensity of 15 to 18 knots and decreasing as the days went by. Throughout the weekend, a total of seven qualifying races were completed.

Eric Yoldjoglou developed a very consistent competition from the first moment, placing himself at the head of the general classification. The rider from the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife added five partial victories, finished one of the races in third position and was disqualified in the last one. These results allowed Eric Yoldjoglou to be proclaimed as the new Spanish Windsurfer champion.

The president of the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife, Julio Romero, and the Board of Directors wish to congratulate Eric Yoldjoglou for the success achieved this past weekend in Murcia, once again placing the club's name at the highest level nationally. A result that confirms his good work and his passion for this sport.
