With a vibrant final day of racing held between Puerto Calero and Playa Quemada, the Brito Hostelería Sailing Team, skippered by Pedro de León, was proclaimed the absolute winner of the Auditax Winter Series J80 Trophy, prevailing over a fleet of seven boats in a season marked by competitiveness and high technical level.

The weather conditions were not promising at the beginning of the day. A persistent calm suggested the possibility of suspending the tests, but finally the wind settled from the south, allowing the dispute of four races that offered an excellent nautical spectacle along the coast between Puerto Calero and Playa Quemada.

With the trophy still to be decided, the duel between the Brito Hostelería Sailing Team and the Lanzarote Sailing Paradise, skippered by Alejandro Morales, focused all eyes. Both teams arrived with real options for the title, and the last four tests would be decisive to define the champion.

Pedro de León and his crew demonstrated solidity and regularity, adding two partial victories and two second places that gave them the final leadership with a comfortable margin. For its part, the Lanzarote Sailing Paradise alternated a victory and a second place with a fourth and a fifth place, closing its participation with 35 points in the general standings, nine behind the champion. The podium was completed by the Longevida team, led by Antonio López Socas Perera, who accumulated 48 points in the general classification, confirming their progression throughout the championship.

After the competition, the fleet moved to the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife, where a relaxed meeting was held between sailors, organizers and collaborators. During the event, representatives of the RCNA and the Association of J80 Owners of Lanzarote presented the trophies, designed for the occasion by the renowned local artist Nicolás Laiz, adding an artistic and symbolic value to the sports recognition.

In addition to the champion and runner-up trophies awarded to the Brito Hostelería Sailing Team and the Lanzarote Sailing Paradise, respectively, the Association wanted to especially thank Javier Laiz, owner of Asesoría Auditax, main sponsor of the event, who received a commemorative souvenir of the championship.

The Association of J80 Owners of Lanzarote highlighted the commitment shown by all the participating teams, as well as the close collaboration of the RCNA, the sponsorship of Auditax and the institutional support of the Yaiza City Council, which were fundamental to the success of the Auditax Winter Series J80 Trophy.

With the awards ceremony and the traditional sailor's snack, an edition of the Winter Series concludes, which has once again highlighted the excellent health of the J80 class in Lanzarote, as well as its consolidation as one of the references in the island's nautical calendar.
