The drivers of Escudería Lanzarote have demonstrated their passion and determination by continuing to compete in the Karting Championship of the Canary Islands, despite the fact that Lanzarote does not have any event on the official calendar. This weekend, the drivers traveled to Tenerife to participate in the last event of the championship.
David Rodríguez Mendoza, competing in the DD2 category, achieved an impressive third place in the first heat and a second place in the second, which allowed him to be proclaimed Champion of the Canary Islands in his category. On the other hand, the young Víctor González González, in his first participation in the championship and in the Junior category, was positioned third in both heats, thus obtaining the title of runner-up in the Junior category.
Despite these successes, the situation in Lanzarote remains complicated. The island does not have any event of the Karting Championship of the Canary Islands, while in Gran Canaria, with only one driver participating, events are held. Escudería Lanzarote has had to travel twice to Tenerife and twice to Gran Canaria to be able to compete.
Escudería Lanzarote makes a call to the Federation so that "they do not forget their island, highlighting that there are drivers and fans committed to karting." The team congratulates its drivers for their achievements and reaffirms its commitment to continue supporting them in their sports career, with the hope that Lanzarote can have an event of the Canary Islands Championship in the future.
