Last weekend, the Nadamas Swimming Club once again demonstrated its excellent competitive level in open water during the XXVI Isla de Lobos Swimming Crossing, one of the most emblematic events in the Canary Archipelago. The Lanzarote team, represented by five of its swimmers, completed an outstanding performance, placing all its representatives among the top eight positions in the general classification, and adding a total of five medals: two gold, two silver, and one bronze.

The race, with a record-breaking number of participants, more than 280 swimmers, took place under unbeatable weather conditions, with a calm sea and mild temperature, ideal for tackling the 3,500 meters that separate Punta Marrajo (Isla de Lobos) from the Corralejo Sports Dock. The organization, led by Herbania CD, received praise for both its logistics and the festive atmosphere that accompanied the day.

On the competitive level, the men's podium was dominated by CN Nadamas and led by Herminio Alperi, champion of the Lanzarote Open Water Cup 2025, who completed the crossing in a time of 40 minutes and 16 seconds. He was followed by Matías Padrón (41'57'') and Nicolás Padrón (42'16''), both with a constant pace that maintained the excitement until the final meters.

For its part, the women's podium was also mostly dominated by the Costa Teguise club, consolidating its position as one of the clubs with the greatest projection in long-distance swimming in the Canary Islands. Naira Jaén, current champion of the Lanzarote Open Water Cup 2025, took gold after clocking a time of 43 minutes and 39 seconds, followed closely by her teammate Alexandra Sánchez Clark, who took silver with 47'07''. This double presence at the top of the podium reaffirms the excellent technical work and physical preparation of the club's swimmers.

The head of the team and coach of CN Nadamas, Ricardo Senra, was visibly satisfied with the performance of his athletes: “This crossing has been a demonstration of the effort and passion that our swimmers put into training every day. Facing a route like the Isla de Lobos requires physical endurance, but also mental strength and hard work.”

CN Nadamas thus continues its season with great results, strengthening its presence in the regional open water swimming circuit. Its participation in the Isla de Lobos Crossing 2025 reaffirms the individual talent of its athletes and also the club's commitment to sports development and the promotion of swimming in Lanzarote.
