This past Sunday, the Adeje Karate Championship was held at the Las Torres Pavilion in Adeje (Tenerife), organized by the Canary Islands Karate Federation, which brought together more than 500 competitors from the islands, from all categories, in which the Arrecife Club participated with seven competitors, reaping six medals, two golds, two silvers, and two bronzes.

Marius Sasu, after an impeccable performance, was proclaimed champion of the Kumite Youth Male -60 + 60 kg category, winning his three fights with ease. Mohamed Kouchamy, after winning his three fights with authority in the Kumite Children's Male -40 -45 kg category, was also proclaimed champion. Amelie Skiba reached second place in the Kumite Junior Female Open category, losing the fight for gold, which she was winning by 3-1, but in which an error in the last second meant defeat.

Gael Suárez took second place on the podium in the Kumite Alevín Masculino -28 kg category, after losing his final match against the competitor from Gran Canaria.

For their part, Danielle Ibba, in Senior Male -60 -67 kg, and Javier García, in Kumite Youth Male -60 + 60 kg, took home the bronze after falling in the semifinals.

The participation of Poliarrecife was completed with Caleb Padrón in Youth Kumite -48 - 54 kg, who, although he could not advance in his qualifiers, after falling to the competitor from Gran Canaria who would later win the category, with a very tight result (2-3), did a great job and showed an excellent level.

A performance that confirms the high level of the karatekas from Poliarrecife, and an extra motivation for the events that they still have on their agenda for the remainder of the year. Important events such as the Cadet-Junior-Under 21 Spanish Championship, to be held in Jaen from November 14 to 16, in which Amelie Skiba will be part of the Canary Islands Team, who will also be at the last day of the World League that will be held in Venice from December 4 to 7.

In addition, several athletes from the Club will attend the Pepe Pérez Trophy, to be held in Puerto de la Cruz (Tenerife) on November 30, ending the year with the Grand Final of the National League, which will be the last major national Karate event of the year, to be held in Tenerife, from December 12 to 14, and for which Amelie Skiba, Haddu Hamed, and Abdalla Eljaafari have already qualified. Events for which the group of competitors and coaches of the Club continue their preparation intensely in the facilities of the Titerroy Municipal Pavilion, where Club Poliarrecife carries out its training.
