The women's team of CICAR Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife has had to immediately suspend training on Thursday, after confirming a positive case of Covid-19 among one of the members of the squad that plays in the Liga Guerreras Iberdrola. The players and members of the coaching staff are isolated in their respective homes, waiting to be carried out the relevant PCR tests
According to the club, before resuming training last Monday, the players tested negative in the medical tests that were performed and were able to start the work sessions "without any problem." "The affected person was informed of a positive from a direct contact, so they had to take another PCR test, in which their positive for Covid-19 was confirmed, in this case it is an imported case," he explains in a statement.
In the same, it indicates that the affected person is asymptomatic, in good health and remains isolated in their home, as is the rest of the team and the coaching staff who will undergo a new PCR test throughout the afternoon of this Thursday and Friday morning.
The club affirms that it has already communicated the case to the competent sports and health authorities. Both the players and the members of the coaching staff will have to be isolated for at least ten days, until they test negative in at least two medical tests. For this reason, CB San José Obrero will request the postponement of the match against Super Amara Bera Bera, scheduled for next Saturday, January 16.
