The Island Sports Service of the Cabildo of Lanzarote congratulates the athletes of the Creciendo Sports Club, who returned to Lanzarote after their brilliant participation in the Castellón 2025 International Special Olympics Meeting, where they won numerous medals, shared unforgettable experiences, and lived intense days of camaraderie alongside more than 400 athletes from 14 autonomous communities and eight European countries.

During the event, the Lanzarote team—comprised of eight unified football 7 players and one swimmer—once again demonstrated that sport is a powerful tool for inclusion and overcoming challenges. This was their third consecutive participation in the Special Olympics, consolidating the club's commitment to adapted sports and the social integration of people with functional diversity.

Upon their return to the island, the athletes were proudly welcomed by the counselor for Physical Activity and Sports of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Juan Monzón, who offered them a warm reception to recognize their effort, dedication, and achievements."They are an example for all of Lanzarote society. They have shown that with effort, heart, and teamwork, great goals can be achieved. From the Cabildo de Lanzarote, we will continue to support your growth and promote inclusive sports on the island," highlighted the counselor during the reception event, and he also encouraged them to continue preparing with enthusiasm for their next event, which is the **Galician Football Games of Special Olympics Galicia**, to be held **from November 13 to 16 in Ourense**."Beyond the medals, what's important is all that these kids gain in experiences, camaraderie, and self-esteem. We need to continue making inclusive sports visible and supporting them, because it transforms lives and generates a more just and supportive society," said Juan Pablo Martí Martínez, coach of the Creciendo Sports Club.
