CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen loses by the minimum against Balonmano Morvedre

CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen was defeated this Saturday at the Municipal de Tías against Club Balonmano Morvedre in the third match of the second phase of the Liga Guerreras Iberdrola (26-27).

The match, which was held with the public in the stands for the first time this season, remained tied throughout the match except for some phases of local advantage in the first half and visitor advantage in the second.

Almost certainly, the Tiñoseras played the best match of the season from a defensive point of view, with intensity and success during a large part of the first period. After the break, the Valencians adapted better to the match and achieved slight advantages (min. 55, 21-25). The locals, dreaming of the possibility of scoring, gritted their teeth and came close to achieving a tie in the last minute. Possibly the team that best managed the tension of the final moments won.

After this match, Morvedre is placed fifth in the group for permanence with 9 points with five matchdays to go, while Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen remains last in search of its first points.

Juliana Borges converted seven goals for the Valencian team, while the top scorer among the Tiñoseras was, again, Tamara Jovicevic, with eight goals, well accompanied in that offensive facet by Lucía Betancort, with six goals.

The players of CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen travel to Galician lands on April 24 to face Conservas Orbe Rubensa Balonmano Porriño in the Municipal de Porriño, a team that will arrive at the match after winning against Zuazo (20-21) and that has thirteen points in their locker that keep them as second in the group.
