CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen could not beat Rocasa in the final of the Canary Islands Cup (29-18).

The Tiñosero team, after the first final of the season, is already preparing for the second league match, after having achieved the first victory in Vigo in the premiere of the Women's Silver Division of Honor against Lavadores.

The match between Rocasa and CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen remained tied throughout the first half thanks to the good performance of the Lanzarote team's goalkeeper, with the locals reaching the distance in the score in the second half that would remain until the end, making clear the current difference between the champions of Spain and the conejero team.

The coach of the conejero team, Miguel Ángel Lemes, explained after the match held this Wednesday in Gran Canaria that it had been "an even match in the first half, with a great performance by Madeleine in goal. We held the score well with a fluid attack and a 6:0 defense that stopped their attacks. The girls came out plugged in and we tried to run as much as we could. Little by little, Rocasa's physical power was imposed".

For the conejero coach, "the beginning of the second half marked the course of the match. Remudas, with their gala team, so to speak, defended very well and we were caught in the dark in attack, without finding solutions and with quick counterattacks they broke the match. We were able to maintain the distances between 9/10 goals against until the end, with the three youth players called up having some playing time against the best team in national handball. We leave happy, knowing that we must improve in many areas and hoping to recover the injured players to make a more competitive squad", concluded the coach of CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen.

The next match of the conejero team corresponds to the second matchday of group A of the Women's Silver Division of Honor and will take place next Saturday, September 21, at the Tías Municipal Pavilion, starting at 8:30 p.m., against Siero Deportivo Balonmano, a team that started the league with a defeat against Oviedo Balonmano femenino.
