The Handball Tournament "City of Arrecife" continued to be held on Saturday afternoon at the Titerroy Municipal Pavilion, with the match between BM Ingenio and McDonald's Tenerife. A tournament organized by the San José Obrero Handball Club and the support of the Department of Sports of the Arrecife City Council, led by Jacobo Lemes.
The first minutes of the match were dominated by McDonald's Tenerife, a team that demonstrated its potential in static attack actions. The first advantages on the scoreboard were in favor of the Tenerife team, although little by little BM Ingenio managed to equalize the forces on the scoreboard.
BM Ingenio pressed in defense, making clear its strategy of giving a lot of speed to its game. The team from Gran Canaria did not hesitate to go on the attack quickly, with McDonald's Tenerife not being able to retreat efficiently. Francisco Sánchez culminated a counterattack, putting BM Ingenio ahead on the scoreboard for the first time (4-5).
The coach of McDonald's Tenerife requested a time-out, failing to change the dynamics of the match. After the instructions from the bench, BM Ingenio achieved a new partial score of 0-2 and the coach of the Tenerife team requested another time-out (4-7). BM Ingenio had a lead of seven goals in the first half, reaching the end of the first 30 minutes with a score of 18 to 13.
The second half offered by the two teams was more even, with McDonald's Tenerife gradually reducing the difference on the scoreboard. The Tenerife team played with a mixed defense on Armando Santana, trying to counteract the attacking potential of BM Ingenio.
In the middle of the second half, BM Ingenio's advantage was minimal, with McDonald's Tenerife getting one goal behind (22-23). The team from Gran Canaria was forced to request a time-out, trying to break the game dynamics of the Tenerife team. And they succeeded, since from that moment on they always enjoyed an advantage of two or three goals, managing the income until the end of the match.
With the result of 32-35 in favor of BM Ingenio, the match came to an end, a score that leaves the Handball Tournament "City of Arrecife" open for the third day. BM Ingenio and McDonald's Tenerife are tied on points at the top of the tournament, although the first place is in favor of Ingenio as they have a better goal difference.
The last match of the Handball Tournament "City of Arrecife" will be played on Sunday starting at 12:00 noon and will pit Ca'Mario Lanzarote San José Obrero against BM Ingenio. A match that will be played in the Municipal Pavilion of Titerroy, with the trophy presentation taking place at the end of it.
