Balonmano Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife added its second victory of the weekend on Saturday afternoon, this time in the match against "Sermarther" Ciudad de Tacoronte, corresponding to the first day of the Copa Gobierno de Canarias. The game of the Lanzarote team was not as fluid as in Friday's match, but that did not prevent them from taking the initiative and ending up scoring the victory by a difference of 8 goals.

The first part of the match was quite even, with the Balonmano Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife team taking the initiative on the scoreboard, although not being able to open an important gap. "Sermarther" Ciudad de Tacoronte made an effort in defense, trying to prevent the opponent from developing a fast game and not being comfortable on the court.

Ciudad de Tacoronte even took the lead on the scoreboard, with two goals from Lanzarote's Joel Armas, who this season for study reasons will play in the Tenerife team. The youth player Pedro Noda culminated a quick counterattack to raise the rent to two goals (6-4). This difference was maintained for many minutes of the first half.

Only in the final stretch of the first half, Ciudad de Arrecife was able to open the difference on the scoreboard. A 3-0 partial, with goals from Diego Ruiz, Airan Trujillo and Ángel Iglesias, two of them with quick counterattacks that were born from the defense with long displacement of the ball, allowed the local team to go four up. At halftime the score was 17 to 12.

The second half began with a Balonmano Ciudad de Arrecife that increased the difference, scoring the first two goals of the period through Santiago Cardone and Adrián Júarez. A seven-goal rent that gave the locals a lot of tranquility on the court, who in this second half were able to better develop their game of giving speed to each of the attack actions.

The defenses posed by the two teams were safe, which made the game difficult in attack and which caused the score not to move for many minutes. On the counterattack, Balonmano Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife scored several goals, two of them scored by Airán Trujillo, a player from the subsidiary team who is in training dynamics with the first team.

With the score of 31 to 23 the match came to an end, with Balonmano Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife adding the first victory in the Copa Gobierno de Canarias. The Lanzarote team continues its participation in the XLVIII San Ginés Tournament on Sunday, facing Desatascos Jumbo Gáldar from 12:00.
