The wrestling ground “Heraclio Niz” will be the stage this Saturday, September 20, for the first edition of the event Lanzarote Boxing, organized by the Boxing School “Palenke” and Global Boxing Federation, together with the Island Sports Service of the Cabildo of Lanzarote.
The presentation ceremony, which was attended by the Councilor for Physical Activity and Island Sports, Juan Monzón, and the representative of the organizing club, Elvis Ramírez, took place next to the ring installed in the Sports City.
“Without a doubt, we will enjoy a unique sporting event in which top-level boxers will face each other in the archipelago,” said the councilor, Juan Monzón, who also had words of gratitude to Palenke “for the great legacy he has offered to the athletes of Lanzarote.”
“From the Island Sports Service we continue to support and promote all kinds of sporting events that, in addition, involve the incentive and promotion of them on the island,” he pointed out.
For his part, the organizer of the event and representative of the club, Elvis Ramírez, stated that this Saturday “something new and unique will be experienced on the island of Lanzarote.” “I am convinced that boxing lovers will enjoy an evening in which they can enjoy up to 14 fights with boxers from Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria and Tenerife,” added Ramírez, who was accompanied by Palenke, who is undoubtedly a benchmark of sports on the island.
Tickets are still available through the web, for a price of 10 euros until the capacity of around 500 seats is reached. “I am convinced that this event will be the prelude to a great future meeting for island, regional and national boxing,” concluded the councilor, Juan Monzón.
