The hall of the Arrecife Insular Chess Center hosted this Tuesday afternoon the presentation of the Chess School of the Sociedad Democracia, belonging to the OneChess club, an event attended by parents, young players, and fans who wanted to accompany the start of this chess project.
The event served to announce an initiative that focuses on training and the role of chess as an educational tool. In a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, attendees learned how the school will operate, what kind of work will be done with the students, and what objectives the club has set for this stage.
During the presentation, the importance of offering a continuous space where children and young people can learn chess and grow with it was emphasized, not only from a sporting perspective but also personally. Values such as concentration, respect, decision-making, and strategic thinking were some of the highlighted aspects, always from a playful and accessible perspective.
The school is born with the intention of becoming a reference point for grassroots chess in Lanzarote, adding efforts to the work already being done on the island and contributing to keeping chess alive, through training and coexistence.
