The karateka of the Poliarrecife Karate Club, Amelie Skiba, continues unstoppable, this weekend she has won the bronze medal in the grand final of the National Karate League held in Pontevedra. A final for which only the best eight of each category had qualified, after the first two days, competing in the female cadet category Kumite -61 kg., in which she is ranked number three in the absolute national ranking and in the top thirty of the world ranking.

Amelie thus completes a 2024 year of important sporting achievements, with 5 golds in regional competitions, winning all those that have been held for her category, including the Canary Islands Championship, two bronze medals in national competition obtained on the second day and in the final of the National Karate League, and a bronze medal in world competition, obtained in the WKF Youth League held in Cancun in August.

To this we must add her nomination for the Lanzarote sports awards of 2024, in recognition of her sporting career up to 2023, as well as her participation in the Spanish Championship as a member of the Canary Islands karate team, and in other days of the WKF Youth League held in 2024 in Fujairah, A Coruña, and Venice. Competitions in which she did not manage to reach the podium but which, without a doubt, add experience and learning to face a very promising competitive future.
