The III Spanish Outdoor Apnea Championship held on October 19 and 20 in Puerto del Carmen, Lanzarote, has ended with an evident success at a sporting and organizational level. Up to 34 participants from half a dozen countries have competed both in the national championship itself and in the "open" category, leaving some performances for the history books in the waters of Lanzarote.

Such is the case of Alfredo Roën, from Tenerife, who has won two gold medals, one of them with a national record included: -85 meters in free immersion. Fran Quesada from Madrid has been another of the outstanding protagonists of this championship with a national record in the constant weight modality with bifins (CWT-BF) and his descent to 74 meters or the silver achieved in constant without fins (CNF) and a descent of -54 meters.

The women have shown their growth in quantity and quality. There have been 9 women who have competed for the medals, with Isabel Sánchez Arán, defending the colors of Catalonia, standing out the most by collecting two golds in the free immersion and constant weight with bifins modalities. We must also highlight the demonstration of quality of a historical figure of apnea, the Italian Davide Carrera, who ultimately won the Open format.
