The 10th edition of Famara Total kicked off on Thursday night with the celebration of the Vertical Nocturna by Lanzarote Sports Destination, a unique event that once again filled the coast of Famara with excitement, lights and sport. The 100 places available were filled with mountain enthusiasts who, with headlamps on, faced the 6.5 kilometers and 600 meters of positive elevation gain that separate the Famara pier from the Las Nieves hermitage.

The favorites did not disappoint: Alejandro Mayor won the men's general classification with a time of 00:38:07, while Estela Guerra was the women's winner with a time of 00:46:35.

The night began with an emotional tribute to Patricio Morales, promoter of this race and the heart and soul of the event, in which the Councilor for Sports of Teguise, Alejandro Ramírez, highlighted his work and the Mayor, Olivia Duque, presented him with a plaque of recognition. There was also a special remembrance for the usual speaker of the race, absent this year for personal reasons, but an essential part of the history of the Vertical.

At 9:00 p.m. the race started, first for the pairs category and then for the individual runners. The string of lights advancing along Famara beach and ascending through the Barranco de La Paja offered an unparalleled visual spectacle for the spectators.

In the men's individual category, the podium was formed by Alejandro Mayor (00:38:07), followed by Jorge Hernández (00:39:15) and Rayco Hernández (00:39:45). In the women's category, the victory went to Estela Guerra (00:46:35), accompanied on the podium by Judit Pérez (00:53:29) and Nuria Muñoz (00:54:22).

In the pairs category, the triumph was for Valeria Hernández Pérez and Edwin Camacho Pérez with a combined time of 01:29:37 (00:44:48 each), followed by Axier Urresti Rivero and Ruth Brito Curbelo (01:33:45), and in third position Ángel Agustín Gómez Vázquez and Francisco José Cassini De La Torre (01:35:48).

After the arrival of the runners at the Caleta de Famara pier, the awards ceremony began in a festive atmosphere, enlivened by the Bourbon group and DJ Iván García, who set the rhythm for the first night of the Famara Total.

This Friday the Chinija Race will be held, with bib collection for all categories except Chinija from 10:00 to 13:00 and from 16:00 to 20:00 hours at the Caleta Pier, and for the Chinija from 16:00 to 17:00 hours at the same place. At 17:00 hours there will be a group warm-up and at 17:30 hours the start. The day will conclude with a musical performance by Bourbon and Parranda Malpei from 19:00 to 22:30 hours.

Saturday, August 16 will be dedicated to Trail & Trekking. At 06:30 hours the playroom service will open for minors (over 3 years old), exclusively for parents or legal guardians of participants in the 25 km or 45 km categories. The start of the 45 km will be at 07:00 hours, the 25 km at 08:00 hours, followed by a group warm-up at 09:00 hours. At 09:15 hours the 15 km category will start and at 09:30 hours the 7.5 km (hiking/trekking). The closing of the 7.5 km, 15 km and 25 km categories is scheduled for 12:30 hours, and the 45 km at 15:00 hours, at which time the trophies for the general classification will be awarded (the category prizes will be awarded at the end of each category). Music will once again be the protagonist from 15:30 to 19:00 hours with performances by Café con Leche and Los de Lola.
