Action, spectacle and emotion on the first day of the Quemao Class

The first day of competition of the 'Billabong Quemao Class' ends, leaving behind impressive images. As planned, the wave conditions have improved even more throughout the day and the competitors have been able to make the most of them.
 
The day closes with the first qualifiers for the semifinals in both categories. The Canarian surfers Luis Díaz, Jonathan González and José María Cabrera continue unstoppable alongside the Portuguese Miguel Blanco.
 
The Irish surfer Gearoid McDaid has been another of the great protagonists by achieving a spectacular wave of 10 points. Standing out next to him, the local José María Cabrera with a wave of 9.33 out of 10.
 
In bodyboarding, the first semifinal will pit the athletes from Fuerteventura Octavio González, Aitor Ojeda and Ruyman Rey against each other, as well as Armides Soliveres from Gran Canaria.
 
The three-time champion of the event, the Frenchman Amaury Lavernhe has returned to La Santa prepared to win again, achieving today the best wave of his category with 9.50 points out of 10. "This is a spectacular event, being able to compete in these conditions with the level there is is extraordinary," commented the Frenchman.
 
This Tuesday the 7th edition of the 'Billabong Quemao Class' will continue with the check-in of competitors at 7:30 a.m.
