The teachers of the Fishing School, still without collecting the tutorials

On September 1, 2017, at the headquarters of the Presidency of the Government of the Canary Islands, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the Ministry of Education and Universities and the representative trade unions of public education teachers, in the presence of the President of the Government of the Canary Islands, signed the agreement on the improvement of the remuneration framework for non-university teaching staff. These improvements were recognized from January 1, 2018. Among them are those related to the tutorial function.

The teachers of the Ministry of Agriculture are equal in working hours and salary with those of Education. These are being paid for tutoring for some time, but those of Fisheries have not yet received a single euro, despite claims made by teachers that have not received a response.

Does the General Technical Secretariat of Agriculture intend to judicialize the issue? It seems so. It is deplorable that the tutors of the Ministry of Education are receiving these remuneration improvements and those belonging to the Ministry of Agriculture are still waiting to see if someone from this body notices the issue, when three years have already passed since the agreement on remuneration improvements for Canarian teachers was launched, to which Law 6/2014, of July 25, Canarian Non-University Education, opened the door.

What is the reason for this delay? We suspect that it may be due to ineptitude, abandonment or irresponsibility on the part of the Administration.

From CSIF we demand that this discriminatory situation be regularized immediately and retroactively to January 1, 2018. Likewise, we put the legal services of the union at the disposal of our affiliates to undertake the appropriate legal actions if necessary.
