My sincerest congratulations to the César Manrique Foundation on the occasion of the opening of the César Manrique House Museum in Haría.

I confess that I am still impressed by the visit with which the Foundation has shown various institutional representatives the new space, facilities that allow us to get closer to the artist's most intimate and personal side.

Lanzarote is in luck with this new challenge facing the Foundation, as its opening illuminates a hopeful oasis in these times of pessimism for entrepreneurs. In my opinion, the success of the proposal is guaranteed and is not unrelated to the brave and honest trajectory of the FCM and its valuable cultural and environmental contributions.

However, I am faced with the paradox that the opening to the public of César Manrique's last home has coincided in time with the announcement of an indefinite strike in the Art, Culture and Tourism Centers, so linked to the artist and which fortunately was deactivated at the last minute.

It is incomprehensible that two such similar initiatives, which have César Manrique as their protagonist, are conducted along divergent paths. One opens new spaces and expands, and the other is weighed down by the threat of an uncertain future. One repositions the island in the world and the other is news for old unresolved conflicts.

This strange reality forces us, the political and institutional leaders of the island, to reflect on the need to act quickly, in the path that the FCM travels with remarkable success.

No one guarantees that negotiations between the Centers' management and the workers will culminate successfully in November. And in this situation, political parties and institutional representatives have to join the effort being made at the negotiating tables.

The objective is to agree and lay the foundations for a solid future project for the Tourist Centers, for the general interest of Lanzarote, for the viability of the public company and for the stability of jobs.

From the political sphere, we must contribute with responsibility, dialogue and consensus to the definitive solution of the conflict, values that we demand from the company's management and the workers. We have to demonstrate that we are capable of sitting around the same table and guaranteeing a solid and peaceful future for the Centers.

Meanwhile, I reiterate my best wishes to the FCM with this new project, my congratulations for the sensitive and quality work and my gratitude for its contribution to ensuring that César's memory continues to be part of the present of Lanzarote.
