Donald Trump has presented a plan that is not for peace but for more death, demonstrating once again his complicity in the genocide. If it were really a peace project, he would not present this neocolonial plan, without any participation from the political actors of Gaza, or any multilateral organization, usurping the role that corresponds to the United Nations Security Council. Netanyahu, who has an arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court (ICC) for war crimes and crimes against humanity, applauds because he knows that the decoy is a trap for an entire people.
Civil society watches in astonishment at the trick of the hat, where a dove appears, there is actually a corpse. It is a plan that does not seek peace or justice, but to establish a protectorate under the control of the occupiers. Netanyahu reiterated that, although he supports the ceasefire scheme, Israeli forces will continue to operate in "most" of Gaza, therefore, more than a plan for self-determination of Palestine, what is emerging is an occupation legitimized with a US stamp.
The initiative that Trump sells as peace does not facilitate the development of a true Palestinian state, it seems more like a formula to consolidate military and political control of Gaza under the protection of an international agreement. What Trump proposes is not a solution to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, it is the culmination of a process of dispossession and displacement that has been going on for decades. What is intended is not to rebuild the territory for the Palestinian population, but to rebuild it without them.
Israel, with the support of Western powers, has turned the Gaza Strip into a territory that has ended up being turned into an extermination camp for its occupation and conquest, after the continued will and perpetration of the elimination of its inhabitants and the subsequent expulsion of those who survive this genocide.
The only viable plan today is a ceasefire and the immediate departure of the Israeli army. The only plan is the one that recognizes all the rights of the Palestinian people, the one that ensures that there will be no more genocide, no more apartheid, no more prison, no more exile, no more demolitions of houses, no more daily deaths of innocents. The one that returns the land and their houses seized after so many years of occupation. The one that puts an end to so much suffering. It is not a matter of religions, it is a matter of life, of humanity, of freedom, of respect.
Only determined and total pressure at the international level will stop the colonialist and genocidal death machine of the Israeli government. Only the solidarity of the peoples, the affection of the people, the rage against injustices and the internationalist commitment will stop this genocide. Only a widespread boycott of the State of Israel will change the dynamics of events, as happened in South Africa.
In these terrible circumstances, we must continue fighting. Indifference to this serious situation will only contribute to the perpetuation of injustice. What is at stake is the destiny of humanity, because it is intolerable to allow an entire people to be murdered with impunity while governments stand idly by. Trump's plan is not for peace but for extermination, that of an entire people. We citizens are clear that we are not going to give up in our solidarity struggle in support of the Palestinian people. Because humanity has to win.
