Physicists and philosophers have spent centuries trying to understand and define the concept of time. The legislature we are suffering in Teguise could be a good example of how current politics manages time, leaving the hands of any clock fallow.
Without the COVID-19 pandemic serving as an excuse, Unidos Por Lanzarote y La Graciosa (UPLG) can offer numerous examples in recent years in the municipality of Teguise of a confusing policy that specializes in failing to meet deadlines.
As an example in this first chapter of the adventures, or rather misadventures, of the late government group of Teguise, the hackneyed "Costa Teguise Football Field" serves as an example. To the greater shame of the government group, this project was announced in 2005, tendered in January 2017 and in May of the same year the works began, with an execution period of 12 months and a budget of 1.7 million euros. Reading this almost breathing in the first days of 2022 is very dizzying and, for sure, will blush the face of some politicians in Teguise.
To further embarrassment, this project, flooded with statements, photos and empty promises, may want to associate it in the battered agendas of Teguise with macro projects such as the work of the new Bernabéu, in Madrid, which was presented on April 2, 2019. At the end of May of that same year, the works began that will be completed in the coming year.
Trying to justify the Teguise delay, it is possible that the Teguise government group has the desire to coincide the completion of both works looking, as always, for the publicity of others to splash them in some way. Another option is that, due to the mayor's footballing desire, they want to coincide the Costa Teguise project with the "Espai Barça".
The fact is that any other explanation that is not focusing on the first division leads us to the harsh reality, an extensive list of unfulfilled and delayed promises that mistreats the municipality of Teguise. And if they have failed with time, the project itself gives for many more episodes that is far from that "sports city" that promised the citizens.
The late football field of Costa Teguise is just one example. From UPLG we will be reporting on the numerous examples in Teguise of political breaches, to the greater embarrassment of the Teguise government group.
