One day after the General Elections of 28A, after the polls, the campaign, the exit polls, the counts and the results, it is time to give thanks. Thank you to all the people who went to the polling stations to participate in a decisive day for our country. Thank you to all the progressive voters who built, ballot by ballot, the wall of containment to the threat of the extreme right. Thank you for the majority confidence in the Socialist Party, which we will not disappoint.

As a representative and voice of Lanzarote in the Congress of Deputies, I commit to working following the dictates of the majority that supported our acronym and all those who bet on the future and rejected the involution and the return to the last century.

Legitimized by the polls and fueled by popular support, we will build a Spain of progress, we will paint policies and projects in violet and we will make coexistence, equality and social justice our unrenounceable goals.

But it is not the time for promises but for dialogue and the search for agreements; it is the time for politics in capital letters, to respond to the confidence of millions of votes that make us proud and commit us in equal measure.

Today we begin the path to the constitution of a Government in Spain that is that of all citizens and that will demonstrate that consensus is the only strategy and that far from radicalism, with common sense, with generosity and with empathy, we can work for the benefit of all society.

Thank you for the Spain that is coming, a feminist Spain, an ecological Spain, an egalitarian Spain, a fair and social Spain, a united and diverse Spain, a strong Spain, a Spain in Europe.

Thank you.

Ariagona González

Elected Deputy of the PSOE of Lanzarote
