When political interests go against the interests of the population, what happens happens. That disaffection that manifests itself every time citizens are called upon to elect one candidate or another or one political formation or another, is nothing more than a true reflection of the weariness of citizens.

Taking this argument as a starting point, I listen with perplexity to the statements of José Brito (the voice of the PSOE in the municipality of Teguise), who with reference to the budgets that we took to the commission for subsequent presentation and approval, makes on a radio program. This gentleman says that with the current government team, the municipality of Teguise has no future.

I intend with this article to answer his statements claiming a resounding, TEGUISE HAS A FUTURE, a future that men and women forge every day not only from the government but from the town itself. A better future with more employability. We increased in this budget a request made by the residents, to provide more resources to entrepreneurship for our young entrepreneurs with more than double the resources allocated in other years, we went from 100,000 to 180,000 euros in Youth.

A future with more training, with another 80,000 euros more for extracurricular activities, support classes and a clear investment in language training for our children, with which we will achieve a more competitive municipality in the future and we will also prevent our business fabric from having to look for personnel outside our municipality due to lack of training. We increased in the same way and with the same philosophy the aid to the scholarships of our students, almost 40,000 euros more in social items; more education and more equality. All this without increasing the tax burden on citizens.

More than 1,700,000 euros have been obtained in investment from other administrations in our municipality, a great achievement, all thanks to the negotiating capacity of the current government team, for all this I reiterate my acclamation: TEGUISE HAS A FUTURE.

Miguel Ángel Jiménez, Councilor for Economy and Finance of the Teguise City Council
