Soria: "pa´na´ma´"

April 13 2016 (14:38 WEST)

A Spanish minister of Canarian origin made us live through the crisis of the explorations. We had a very bad time and if we escaped from that, surely, we owe it to nothing other than the vertiginous fall in the price of oil. Although the citizen movement against the explorations was exemplary, the political representation was shameful at all times. From that experience, Soria, came out with the title of "persona non grata" that the citizens dedicated to him, dedicated to him, who in addition to being fed up with his abuse in the management of Energy, suffered his defense of the explorations and the interests of the oil companies. Do not forget that he was even capable of mobilizing the army against the people for it.

Although his political career is very long, always in the ranks of the Spanish right, José Manuel Soria has a special –parallel- role in judicial matters from 2006, shortly after the anti-corruption brigade was opened in the Canary Islands. For that reason, his name appears in the well-known cases Góndola (Mogán); Faycán (Telde); Brisán (Santa Brígida); Eolo (Arinaga) where the Minister of Industry, who was, coincidentally, his brother Luis Soria, was also involved; or the Salmón case, where he was accused of favoring a Norwegian businessman to benefit him in fishing.

The name of his brother and other relatives is repeated, demonstrating that it is a very close family. As well as issues of documentary falsehood, bribery, influence peddling, prevarication and that type of issues that uncover criminal groups.

Soria today, is seen again in the eye of the hurricane. Many of us are not surprised by such a sinister character and his people. For us, we can only ask ourselves if those who vote for him, who give political power to this type of people, should not be judged. Note that we are talking about people who have not exhausted their criminal record, as "the Panama papers" show today, and we know about him for the crimes he has been singled out for, but how many things have they not caught him in yet...?

For the one who subscribes, without a doubt, it is a crime to vote for Soria or his party. And, of the little that I can feel proud of is that campaign of "persona non grata" that so many people signed. Let's see if in the Canary Islands we finally open our eyes and finally say "Soria, for nothing else" and we do the same with the party that has served as an instrument to carry out half of its known illegal actions and so that citizens suffer that energy tax policy that we are still paying.
