The adjective desinquieto, which is used in the Canary Islands with the meanings of mischievous, restless and uneasy and is equivalent to the inquieto of general Spanish, is entirely correct. The prefix des-, which appears first, does not negate, as is usually assumed, the negative content of the prefix in- that appears after it, but reinforces it. On the other hand, it must be taken into account that we are dealing with a Canarianism that probably comes from the Portuguese desinquieto, which is used in the same sense.
