Iñaki Gabilondo recalled this morning the old union slogan "Right to work and work with rights". And I want to thank him for the mention and at the same time, make it mine. We must once again demand decent working conditions that give security and confidence to workers and their families.
Pedro Sánchez has made clear the PSOE's commitment: To repeal the labor reform immediately, as soon as the citizens evict the Popular Party from the country's leadership.
In Lanzarote, recent history supports us. And although we have not made a banner of our political successes because we limit ourselves to doing the work for which we have been elected, a general look is enough to place the Socialist Party on the side of the workers.
The PSOE's firm position against attempts to carry out an ERE in the staff of the Art, Culture and Tourism Centers, after a campaign to discredit the workers and the management of the entity, made it possible to maintain jobs and the current agreement. It was the officials themselves who responsibly chose what labor renunciations and sacrifices they could face for the benefit of the company.
We have maintained public employment in all the administrations in which we have governed and in the case of municipal buses in Arrecife, with excellent economic results without the need to pass the bill on to the staff.
In San Bartolomé we have rescued outsourced services, demonstrating that we can carry them out more efficiently and economically, while respecting the rights of workers.
Therefore, because we know which side we are on and because we have demonstrated it, this May Day we are going to be with the unions in the concentrations, in the marches, in the acts of fraternization.
It is necessary that we do it, that we meet, that we see that we are the majority, that we are full of reasons, that change is possible and that it begins on May 24.
In the street, for the right to work and for a job with rights.
María Dolores Corujo Berriel, Insular Secretary of the PSOE of Lanzarote
