I don't really know what to believe in, I don't feel like a believer in any religion, although I share certain theoretical and ethical values with some, however, I don't feel completely atheist either. I guess I believe more in the advances of science and in common sense always backed by facts.
I'm more of a gray than black or white person, in a world so extremely polarized in absolutely EVERYTHING, I think that in the end gray is undervalued. However, there is something I am radical about, and that is in recognizing those who try to go through the world and change things from their plot. I think it is the only time that I have been saddened to see the news that a Pope has died, Pope Francis, a man who truly tried to apply the words of "good over evil" and who simply tried to go according to what the sacred texts say and update Christian values to the real world.
Today there are people celebrating his departure (I told you that we were in a bad time for Human Rights and ethics, but I didn't think so much).
Francis was uncomfortable, precisely because the guy defended Human Rights, precisely because the guy condemned the wars and said NO to the killing of innocent children in Gaza by Israel. Precisely because he said YES to the Rights of people, and with it he supported the Rights of all the most vulnerable groups. He stood up against gender violence. And he defended the right to migrate and be welcomed. A man who did not understand and criticized that members of his Church could buy the latest model cars and not give a practical example of what they preach.
In short, a good man has left, one of those that are hard to find.
And forgive me for saying, but precisely we don't have many good men in the spheres of maximum power right now.
It's a shame, and we all continue to lose with these losses.
Although... it is also true that, as this beautiful world is right now, let's be realistic, it was too bright for so much darkness.
At the beginning of this article I said that I didn't really know what or who I believed in. I was wrong, I believe in people who change the world from their plots, whatever they may be, and act for the common good. I believe in leaders like the one who has left us today.
