Dear residents of Haría:

Today I am going to allow myself the luxury of writing these few lines to thank you for all the support we have been receiving from you, for your collaboration and for your words that help us to improve day by day, setting us a single objective which is to improve Haría and make it a better, more inclusive and friendly municipality for those who live in it and for those who visit it.

If there is one thing I am proud of, it is the stability that we have managed to bring to the municipality in recent months, stability that I personally commit to maintaining if we have your support on May 28 and can govern in a majority.

We know, and you have made it clear to us, that you are tired of partisan wars, confrontations and instability. That is why, and because Haría matters to us! we commit to working responsibly so that stability is finally established in the municipality.

To this end, we have in the Haría Municipality Platform (PMH) a team of formidable and competent men and women, composed of young people and people with experience in public management, who will work from minute one to ensure that Haría continues to move forward and remains a benchmark at island and national level.

In this sense, the first thing we will do if we return to govern is to agree with the Water Consortium to extend the network of reservoirs in the municipality, because it is unacceptable that in the 21st century our neighbors continue to suffer cuts in supply.

We are concerned about the elderly, and therefore, we will continue to promote policies that improve social and health care and home care. We will consolidate the Month of the Elderly, and we will continue to carry out activities that value the wisdom of our elders, because they are the voice of experience, and we must give them the leading role they deserve in our society. In addition, we will launch a plan to address unwanted loneliness.

We also believe that it is important to protect children and our young people and, to this end, we will implement a Comprehensive Childhood Plan and launch training programs that educate the youngest in values. On the other hand, we will continue to promote the SinEdad Center, a space for leisure and enjoyment for all the residents of Haría, a meeting point in which to share and promote intergenerational interaction.

We are aware that many families have difficulties in making ends meet and that housing has become a problem for our neighbors. For this reason, we will encourage self-build housing with direct aid lines, extend rental aid, and request the Directorate General of Cadastre to review the cadastral values, taxing the municipal percentage to the minimum allowed by law.

In the Haría Municipality Platform we aspire to full employment and, to this end, we will launch training and employment plans for young people and families at risk of social exclusion.

Achieving full integration and real equality is key for Haría to move forward, and for this reason, we will create a network of inclusive playgrounds throughout the municipality, while demanding that the Ministry of Education of the Government of the Canary Islands create an enclave classroom in Haría, which allows schooling for students with Specific Educational Support Needs (SEN). In addition, we are committed to increasing the endowment and access to scholarships for students from Haría.

Another of the sectors that concerns us is the primary sector, especially agriculture, which is currently facing a severe drought due to lack of rain and lack of water due to supply cuts. Therefore, we will work from the PMH to expand and improve the agricultural water distribution network.

We will also defend the interests of our fishermen, so that they can continue fishing in the Marine Reserve. We will also demand that the La Graciosa Reserve be renamed the Haría, La Graciosa and Chinijo Archipelago Fishing Reserve, considering the Órzola Pier as one of the base ports of the Reserve.

Craftsmanship is key not only for Haría, but for the entire island, so in addition to the Island Center we will launch programs and activities to ensure its survival and value this art.

Finally, we are fully aware of the need to protect our environment and the environment, so we will install a clean point in Haría, complete the sanitation network to prevent any discharge into the sea, and carry out a battery of measures to reduce pollution in the municipality.

In total, there are more than seventy proposals that we have developed to improve Haría and guarantee the quality of life of its inhabitants, because Haría matters to us!. Measures that we will be detailing little by little, but real measures that we will launch from May 28 if we have your support.
