"Luis has not only been a great secretary-general; he has been—and will continue to be—more than a colleague, a friend. To take up your mantle is an honor and a great responsibility, and I promise to follow your path with the same passion and dedication," Cubas expressed.

Strong and united party

The new local secretary of the nationalist party assured that she assumes this stage "with humility, enthusiasm, and commitment," emphasizing that Coalición Canaria has made history in Tinajo with six consecutive absolute majorities. "That legacy fills us with pride, but it also commits us to continue living up to the task. Our party is strong, it is united, and Tinajo will continue to move forward with us at the helm," she stated.

Cubas insisted on the importance of teamwork and unity within the party. "I firmly believe in the strength of the group. This project is not about one person alone, but about all of us who believe in Tinajo and in a close, honest, and committed policy with our neighbors," she added, before thanking the members, her family, and the mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín, for their trust and support.

The event included speeches by the general secretary of the Canarian Coalition of Lanzarote and La Graciosa and senator for the Canary Islands, Pedro San Ginés; the president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote and regional parliamentarian, Oswaldo Betancort; and the honorary president of the party and mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín, who congratulated the new local secretary on her appointment and highlighted the work carried out by the outgoing leadership.

"You have my full support, you and your team can count on me," said Pedro San Ginés, addressing a "valuable and empowered woman" who further reinforces the female presence at the head of the new organic leadership of Coalición Canaria, both in the municipalities and at the island level.

"I'm liking how the renewal of the Local Committees and the Nationalist Youth is happening," Oswaldo Betancort said in this regard, who was also "proud of all the work we are doing" from public institutions: "We must continue like this," he said.

For his part, Jesús Machín, thanked and praised the work carried out both at the head of the Local Committee and in his role as councilor by Luis Miguel Pérez Berriel, "a benchmark for our party," and highlighted the "capacity and responsibility" of Yurena Cubas: "I have always believed in her," he stressed.
