The Department of Housing of the Arrecife City Council has reported that as of this Thursday, applications can be submitted for the municipal subsidies intended for housing rental corresponding to the 2026 fiscal year, which can be requested through the electronic headquarters or in person from July 2 to 29, both included.
This line of municipal aid aims to alleviate the economic effort involved in paying the rent for the habitual residence of families and residents of Arrecife with fewer resources, contribute to improving their quality of life, and prevent situations of social emergency and possible evictions due to non-payment. The subsidy is earmarked, personal, and non-transferable, and will be paid directly to the beneficiary or their legal representative.
"Essential aid"
Rosmen Quevedo has stressed that “with this call, we are giving continuity to essential aid for many families in Arrecife, aid that for a time ceased to be called and that we are recovering from the Department of Housing to put it back at the service of those who need it most.”
Quevedo emphasizes that “access to housing is one of the main concerns of our residents. These subsidies do not solve the problem on their own, but they do represent significant relief for many family economies that make a great effort each month to face the payment of rent.”
The call includes aid intended to cover 50% of the monthly rent amount for the habitual residence, with a maximum of six monthly payments corresponding to the current fiscal year. Payment will be made in a single installment to the beneficiaries.
Adults registered in Arrecife with a minimum seniority of one year, who are holders of a habitual residence rental contract in the municipality and who meet the economic requirements established in the call, may apply for these subsidies.
Competitive bidding
The granting of aid will be carried out through a competitive bidding system, evaluating the applications submitted according to the criteria established in the regulatory bases and prioritizing those cohabitation units with lower economic capacity within the established limits.
Applications may be submitted preferably by electronic means through the Electronic Headquarters of the City Council or in person at the Municipal Registry offices, accompanied by the documentation required in the call.
The Councilor for Housing encourages all people who meet the requirements to submit their application. "From the Department, we make all the necessary information and advice available to citizens to facilitate the processing of these subsidies and so that no one who is entitled to this aid is left without applying for it."
The complete call, as well as the application forms and annexes, will be available on the electronic headquarters of the Arrecife City Council and through the usual municipal information channels.
