The number three on the electoral list of the Popular Party to the Arrecife City Council, Yonathan de León, has become this Friday, July 7, the new mayor of the city, thus replacing the current president of the Parliament of the Canary Islands, Astrid Pérez.

In his speech as the new mayor, De León has thanked "Astrid Pérez for the opportunity she has given him to work by her side for the past four years" and his "colleagues from the Popular Party and the Canarian Coalition for their trust and support of my election as mayor," he thanked.

"It has been four years that have allowed me to thoroughly understand the needs of the citizens and the problems of the city," De León recalled.

He assured that he "will continue working to advance the third capital of the Canary Islands" and that he will be "a mayor close to the citizens," and "will spend a lot of time on the street to build the friendly and beautiful Arrecife that we all dream of," he announced.
