The mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, has confirmed that this Wednesday, at 7:30 p.m., "four Civil Protection volunteers and two municipal vehicles are traveling by boat to the island of La Palma, a crane truck and a van, to transfer more than 8,000 kilos of donations from residents of the Lanzarote municipality to the Isla Bonita."

"We appreciate the commitment and help of our people who responded forcefully since we opened the solidarity campaign and the effort of the Civil Protection volunteers in charge of collecting and organizing the donations," notes the mayor.

The Yaiza City Council, according to reports, "has coordinated with the local Administration of El Paso, the reception points for material aid according to its type", since they add that the municipality of La Palma "arranged a base for non-perishable food and belongings, another for clothing, household goods and various supplies, and one more for animal food, in order to expedite delivery to those affected by the volcanic eruptions."

Óscar Noda and the Councilor for Citizen Security of Yaiza, Javier Camacho, explained to the volunteers in charge of transferring the aid "the itinerary to follow in La Palma, detailing the contact persons for support at the destination". "The people of Yaiza cannot be better represented than by their Civil Protection Group", said Óscar Noda, in the Group's warehouse after the logistics coordination meeting. According to the evolution of needs, "Yaiza would reopen a new solidarity campaign with La Palma".
