The Yaiza City Council has paid this week a total of 89,000 euros to fourteen entities linked to the operation of the Municipal Interest Sports Initiation Schools (EDIIM). The payment corresponds to the first period of the current season, October 2025 – March 2026, so Yaiza is already encouraging clubs to submit the required documentation during the first ten calendar days of next July to access the subsidies for the second period (March - June 2026).

Regarding the Sports Schools program, the mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, underlines "the municipal promotion of training and impulse for the development of healthy activities aimed at our children and young people". This program to support the youth also facilitates the work-life balance of southern families, guaranteeing equal opportunities for sports practice for boys and girls of school age.

The Councilor for Sports of Yaiza, Ángel Lago, also highlights “the participation of our children in local, island, regional, national and international competitions that help their personal and sporting growth hand in hand with trained monitors in each discipline”.

Yaiza values in the granting of subsidies the qualification and experience of the coaches, this being a key factor in the current growth of grassroots sports. Apart from the aid to the Schools, the Administration promotes another specific line of subsidies to satisfy the needs of individual athletes. All calls are published on the Sports link of www.yaiza.es.
