The mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, signed this Monday the contract for 1.3 million euros with the company Hermanos Tavío Santana S.L., by which the contractor undertakes to carry out the comprehensive improvement works for the entrance to Playa Blanca via Femés, in the section between the Plabacón and Marcastell urbanization roundabouts, “a necessary municipal project to improve road safety and aesthetics in one of the access arteries to our main tourist hub,” points out the southern leader.
In accordance with the technical specifications of the tender, the project titled 'Improvement of a section on Avenida de Femés, Playa Blanca' includes the paving of the referred route, the widening of the roadway, the construction of a bicycle lane, and the installation of public lighting and signage
The Yaiza Public Works councilor, Ángel Lago, states that "this road supports a lot of traffic throughout the year and its deterioration is more than evident, but our objective is also to tidy up the area and offer a more pleasant face of Playa Blanca, on this route which is the first impression visitors get of us".
